Jesus, the LibDem forecast is terrible. Not even winning Winchester and Guildford, where they decimated* the Tories in the local and EU elections a few months ago.

2. Yes, normally. The Conservative ones tend to come engraved into black plastic meat trays, which unfortunately aren't recyclable.

And my local recycling thing is very ambiguous about black plastic. They used to say an absolute no to it, very clearly (confuses infrared sensors or summat), but now they don't mention it at all. I even emailed them about it, to the inevitable no response. And it didn't say "c.nt" once.

I dunno, in a FPTP system my instincts tell me we need a credible 3rd party. It seems labour might not be the only party where people might be eyeing the leadership position on Friday, not that the LDs will make the front page. They should have chosen the other one. You know, thingy, with the head, and that.

I think it was black plastic against a black belt background that was usually the issue, you can change the belt colour but that just makes a different colour plastic not work. There are now black dyes for plastics that reflect the scanner beams slightly differently (hazy memory) so it can be detected despite the belt in the background. I suspect most recycling plants just let you put in black plastic now, and have people after the black picking machine to manually pluck out any that it couldn't see cos they have the old dye. Our recycling collection won't offiocially accept anything like a food tray (of any colour), because of contamination from people not washing them spoiling the recycling batch. So I just wash them thoroughly and put them in, hoping for the best. I suspect they're getting picked out and landfilled but at least it helps the clean/unclean ratio if they're measuring it for next time they're considering process or policy changes.

100 seats behind, eh? That would be an even more glorious victory that the 60 odd they lost by last time.

My only residual hope is that LibDem can't be far off in a load of seats. If they could just win an extra 10, then the error margins might cost Johnson another 10 to Labour, to leave him on 319. He'd still be Prime Minister but his Brexit trouble would continue.

There's no possible chance of Corbyn getting anywhere near being in Number 10, so people should vote without fear for LibDems - the "vote Swinson, get Corbyn" scare tactics from the Tories doesn't work.
