His inability to hold a budget counts massively in his favour I'd say.

Well given cats are tiny furry psychopaths, who sleep 20 hours a day and just lick their genitals for the other 4, exhibit minimal empathy and demonstrate very limited understanding of even the most basic of economic concepts, we can only say this is probably a marked improvement on all of Larry's predecessors over the last 12 years.

So Jeremy Hunt has been disguised as a cat all this time?

Why don't they just announce a monthly lottery of Conservative MPs for cabinet positions? First of the month all the names go in a hat, they're drawn out and they have ~4 weeks before the process is repeated. Could be more effective government than what they're currently doing.

Sir William Lee - 29 days (interim)
Iain Macleod - 30 days (died)
Kwazi Kwarteng - 38 days (wazzock)
Sir John Pratt - 60 days (interim)
Nadhim Zahawi - 63 days (government collapsed)
William Murray, 1st Earl of Mansfield - 80 days (interim)
George Canning - 103 days (died)
Sir Robert Peel - 114 days (government collapsed)
Yeahbut, Kwarteng did nothing for the first weeks due to Lizzy passing. So it should be more like 24 days.

They'd be in post longer as well.

her mini-budget “went further and faster than markets were expecting”
I hope JRM has a stern word with her regarding her appalling lack of impartiality and blatant leftist partisan bias.

No, I mean the new one when Hunt's finished. November.

Markets still not happy after her speech. The £ is down and bond yields up. They must have been expecting a more complete U-turn than the £18bn of corp tax cuts.

Well, there's talk that he might be the emergency PM, so maybe it's more a step up* than a poisoned chalice.

Did you see the one with Suella Braverman called END OF THE ROOM NEXT DOOR? I think there is a clue in the title that you might be disappointed.

Well all eyes are now on the new chancellor's statement on the 31st October.

I've personally checked with Truss's crack PR team and they've reassured me that there are no easy headlines that could be possibly written referencing that particular date which luckily has no wider cultural significance.

So that's nice ...

Still true in the sense of bottomless. Might be a void that can be jumped over without too much harm to the country though.
