There was a period when I very proudly identified as being Generation X, which was largely about resenting those just a few years older who banged on about how great the 60s were. We (Gen X) weren’t there, we have our own music and our own clothes, sod off grandad.

Then I stopped being a teenager and realised it was all just crap.
