Apparently some people are calling them The Farage Riots.

That's very unfair as he had absolutely nothing to do with them.

I hope no-one on here starts calling them The Farage Riots

It may be possible that some people like Farage may have had some inspirational effect on some people standing near the riots.

If it is her, I'll be happy, given how disingenuous she has been since Covid
It will be interesting to see whether an investigation exposes whether she was told the false immigrant murder story by someone (she’s told several contradictory stories) or whether there is a more sinister explanation
Her MO in spreading COVID disinformation was to complain that she was just sharing all sides equally and interesting questions.

She always played the victim when challenged

Well that's possible, but calling them The Farage Riots is unfair. Can we call them something different to The Farage Riots?

I do question why people are calling them the Farage Riots when he is at best tangentially involved.

Oh, that's clever, because it is only at best that he's only tangentially involved in the Farage riots

My sister told me a different one. Someone claimed that it's very unfair to blame the EDL for all this, because Erectile Dysfunction is a real issue. So now she can't hear EDL without thinking of Erectile Dysfunction Louts.

As indeed, it was a very limited uprising.

It was a specific post, naming the exact hotel. Most of these sorts of armchair rioters will have put more general messages up.

Not sure how far the law covers generalised calls for "protest" at unnamed immigration hotels at unnamed times.

Jokes, but the quality of hotels people have to stay in is umm shall we say variable at best.

This guy just got sentenced to 38 months for a post he made on Wednesday of this week.

They are not hanging around.

ETA more details at this link https://www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news ... ce-4736588
Northampton man Tyler Kay jailed after threatening to burn down asylum hotel using his own name and picture on Twitter – and tagging Northants Police
The father-of-three used his own name and profile picture, openly talked to people about where he lived and said during an attack he would use ‘gloves, no car either so no number plate to trace, and a change of clothes ready nearby,’ adding that he ‘watched enough CSI
programmes’.

He gave other people advice on ‘staying anon’ and said he would ‘categorically not be arrested’ by Northants Police, before actually tagging the force in one of his tweets.

He used the hashtags #standwithlucyconnolly, #farageriots, #riotsuk and #f***northamptonshirepolice

People on his X account even warned him he would be jailed and he said ‘For what? Sharing a screenshot? You’re delusional buddy’.

Ok I shouldn't make light of the difficult circumstances people seeking refuge here find themselves in. But Britannia really is, by a large distance and then some, the worst hotel I ever stayed in, and I've been in some right dumps (university travel agent booked me one next to a brothel once...)

Anyway, hi, haven't really been here much recently, hope you're all well!

There's also a difference between staying a few nights in a hotel room and living there for months at a time. Student halls would be somewhat appropriate, except for families.

Yeah, I don't think anyone trying to apply for 'council housing' due to eviction etc. has ever been enthusiastic about the idea of indefinite bed and breakfast accomodation.

I can confirm that refugees at the very least are not...asylum seekers I very much doubt it too!

Id like to see a counteroffensive against the offices, studios, and ownership of GBnews and Reform. Whats the legal line between free speech and illegally inciting violence? Asking for friends.
