Clearly should have commented on the orgy story.

Do y'know, I wrote 300 words especially for the Express yesterday. Don't think they ever used it. I imagine it didn't fit in with other content. I did make it on to the Vietnamese translation of the BBC though.

I decided to check if Rule 34 applies to coronavirus and I'm happy to confirm it does.

Couple of things on this:

https://twitter.com/michaeltinmouth/sta ... 552034821

The graph he shows has no source but shows number of tests going down - anyone know the actual numbers on this? Has he been caught by hoax/sh.t-stirrers? Can't think of why the number of tests would reduce - thought someone on here said capacity was being increased dramatically? If so, is he actually a hoax himself?

If all true-ish, then, what difference would it have made if he had been diagnosed with it? His teacher girlfriend would already have it, I guess? Just a difference to the stats??

Lots of chat about airport screening, but how effective are temperature checks going to be? Can't think they'd pick up that much?

PS. Rule 34?

The airport temperature check is useless and has been discontinued.

Anyone else fed up of people telling them how to wash their hands?

Every time I'm washing my hands after I go to the loo it seems like some smartarse walks in and goes 'sing happy birthday twice!' '20 seconds!' I always knew how to wash my hands properly thanks, just because everyone else previously thought it was fine to just vaguely wave their hands in the general direction of the sink doesn't change that.

Luckily haven't had that directly, but just the volume of stuff on social media. Surely people don't require that much explaining?

It's just small talk really. Before that it was tea, so at least the stakes have increased slightly.

It's exactly the same as Tesco shopping bags. "Remember to take them with you and save the planet." The intention is to make people think trivial personal actions are the answer - allowing mega corporations to keep raking in profits.

Same pretence. Wash your hands, that's all we need, don't hurt big business with other measures.

Sorry, realise now that's test growth. Nothing to see here, found my glasses now, move along....

Ah, okay. I see I could've looked that up now. Thought it might be forum-specific.

I also have been told this. Though I also promise my source is not lpm.

COBRA meeting tomorrow, with announcement thereafter likely to include some level/recommendations of shutdown.

My uni's on shutdown now, as are various cinemas and theatres and things in Lisbon. Had to go shopping this evening around 9pm and it was full, with a queue right around the whole back of the supermarket. Nothing had run out though. I'm not even sure what I'd need to stock up on.

Ireland is in Europe. I was wondering the same.

Surely the USA government would understand the difference?
