Oh, that’s what ratioed means. Lightbulb.Stranger Mouse wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 2:23 pm The ratio was quite incredible. This was it after around 70 minutes but I understand it went up to at least 30000 plus quote tweets and bugger all likes

I assumed that it was a mistype, but it looks as though it was a shibboleth.Grumble wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 3:11 pmOh, that’s what ratioed means. Talking about shibboleths - I was listening to the World Service or Radio 4 a few days ago and apparently the Ukrainians were asking suspicious people to tell them some particular words that Russians struggle withbasementer wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 5:36 pmI assumed that it was a mistype, but it looks as though it was a shibboleth.Grumble wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 3:11 pmOh, that’s what ratioed means. It came about from the idea that a tweet was bad if it got more replies than likes and retweets, and extended also to quote tweet dunking.Grumble wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 3:11 pmOh, that’s what ratioed means. You can also ratio someone if your reply calling them out gets more likes than their tweet.
Stephanie wrote: Thu Apr 14, 2022 10:28 am Generally, lots of RTs and nice replies. There's also the coward's ratio, which is significantly more likes to retweets, although now that tweets get randomly pushed into timelines (on Home) people may know of your coward like anyway.
Your conference tweet may be a case of "doing numbers", which is when your tweet starts to pick up and go outside your immediate circle. This can be both good and bad, depending on the response (I am more towards the tendency that doing numbers is cursed, but then I don't tweet about conferences, so I get more weirdo replies).
On the other hand Russians would probably have no trouble at all with "Blrispin".jimbob wrote: Tue Apr 12, 2022 5:43 pm Talking about shibboleths - I was listening to the World Service or Radio 4 a few days ago and apparently the Ukrainians were asking suspicious people to tell them some particular words that Russians struggle with
