90% of them are at it, and its a concern to their physicians, who beleive it arises through lack of education and trust.

Interestingly the most common one is praying. I've come across something before where it's hard in sme cases to d health promotion literature in very religious Muslim countries, 'cos it ain't up to individuals on earth whether they die or not.

Here's the main data:

I would imagine in most non-westernised (or equivalent phrase thereof) countries, a very high proportion of the population would employ the use of something alternative that fits under CAM. And praying in particular, most low- and lower middle-income countries have a majority who are strongly religious.
And thereafter there are links to local healers, herbalists, drug peddlers with whatever local compounds they're using today etc.

So in summary, 90% doesn't surprise me, and I reckon it's similar elsewhere.
