Listening to Rachel Maddow from last night and there was mention that a woman who was actually campaigning for the release of her husband and others due to what she considered overcharging was very unhappy with the more violent offenders being pardoned or commuted.

The point isn't about individuals, but about a culture (or subculture) amongst UK "sceptics" who, in most respects, would consider themselves fairly liberal, but in the case of trans rights have found themselves startlingly aligned to one of the more extreme paranoias of MAGA Republicans.
