Reference management software

Post by monkey »

I just had my work computer upgraded. This meant I had to reinstall nearly all my programmes.

This means I found out that Mendeley had an upgrade too. I don't like the new one. The old one had a nice feature where it would rename and sort your files, which made for easy sharing of the pdfs. I can't do this anymore. I can't even choose where it saves the files locally and new files have the whatever name the journal gave them which isn't useful for identification.

I have tried all the options in the past and also been annoyed at all them. But it's been a few years, so my question is this: Which one is currently best, and does it do the file sorting?

Thought about that, but didn't have time to look (holiday, yay!), doing it now.

I have the old version on my laptop, so I can still organise files the way I like. I also just found out I have the new version too, must have installed with an update, cos I didn't put it there on purpose.

I'm finding the new plugin for word better than the old one though, so it's not all bad.

Just found the old version's installer on a hidden bit of the website!

Yay!
