And not the other way around:

Doing them in either order is obviously better than not doing them at all.

Interesting. I've been going to the gym a lot more in the last year and have also been on WeGovy (the weight loss brand name of Ozempic). I've lost 20kg and am nearly where I want to be, but have plateaued. I've started doing HIIT followed by weight, but may switch those around to see if that has an impact.

I do a run before breakfast and try to remember to do some weight training before bed, but most days it’s just a run. No way on earth I can do both before breakfast.

It depends what your goals are. I'm not trying to lose weight. I do core then cardio then a bit of leg weights mostly to keep the joints strong. I do upper body weights on other days.
However, it is worth noting the study’s limitations. As it only involved obese young men, this means we don’t know how the results will apply to women, older adults or those with different body compositions. A 2024 review suggests adaptations may differ by sex, indicating the need for further research involving diverse populations.
In addition, it was only a 12 week trial. As we know, losing weight is only the first step, keeping it off is harder for many.
Let us know if it works for you.
