And now Twitter is pushing all the conniptions about how 'the left is violent' and 'the dangers of not respecting the far-right fascists, the neo-nazis and those that excuse them' - I think that's what they're saying.

In particular the lie that Bluesky is full of people applauding the killing.

And I'm not applauding the killing. I don't approve of murdering people, however much I dislike them.

As a quite separate point from that, it is also exceedingly counter-productive in terms of the development of US politics. It creates a martyr, and allows the extremists to paint their opponents as being the extremists.

Nevertheless, it would be hypocritical of me to shed crocodile tears for such people.

Speculation is rife despite no one knowing the identity of the killer. It could be a pissed off girlfriend for all we know.

I'm out of my depth by not knowing anything about Nick Fuentes and have not the first clue what a groyper is, but I do expect to be amused by the squirming excuses we'll see from people who will now steadfastly refuse to eat their own words.

Fuentes is their leader. They condemn liberals, ie any far right groups or individuals who are less extreme than them. And boy are they extreme.

They will not be forced to eat their own words though, unless he stands up in court and says as much. And not even then. They will just keep repeating that it was a leftist plot and that leftists are all murderers and are therefore fair game. And the Democratic Party should be banned. Or something similar.

Stephen Miller said before this murder that the Democratic Party was an extremist organisation, I genuinely don’t think it’s beyond the bounds that Trump will try to clamp down on it.

I think a lot of the media an ill equipped to cover this. That bbc article is a good example of that. Whilst we can’t be sure of anything yet I do think that if they’re going to mention the potential (though I think now unlikely) antifa connections they should also be covering the potential groyper link. But they just don’t understand a lot of this.

The Trump administration now seems to be going softer on the killer, because everything is transactional with Trump. The family were full on MAGA followers.

At the same time there was a teenager radicalised by white supremacists who shot students at a school in Evergreen, Colorado, but the Trump administration is shrugging its shoulders as if this is just a normal event.
