And in all seriousness - there is clearly an argument to be made that continuing the monarchy under Charles would be a disaster, in terms of our governance as a country, our international standing, and the habit he has developed over the year of interfering behind the scenes to his own advantage. He's going to be a dreadful head of state, far worse than someone like Trump because he has the job for life.
There is, as far as I understand it, no legal mechanism (short of something pretty close to a revolution) that would allow the forced dissolution of the monarchy - church and state and the monarchy are so intertwined and invested in by the status quo that it would likely result in significant bloodshed, and the Monarch could simply refuse to pass any legislation in any case.
So how else can we stop the c.nt?
I suspect and/or hope when/if he becomes the big cheese it will hasten the end of the monarchy in its present form as given his elevated position he would not be able to interfere unseen anything like as easily. He’s unlikely to stop and hopefully people won’t like what they see.
I had much more faith in this kind of accelerationism in, say, 2015.
The English especially seem relatively content to eat enormous quantities of sh.t.
We have the right to a clean, healthy, sustainable environment.
I've just remembered I had a dream last night in which Prince Andrew scored a winning goal and none of his team-mates knew whether to celebrate with him or not
Not going to COP, her biggest engagement in years. Not remotely surprising at her age; I'm astonished she's (reportedly) still doing any work at all. But declines can be quite quick.

Rishi Sunak is starting to sound more and more like Tony Blair (voice, not content). Shut your eyes and listen.
This is bad news, because soon I won't know whether it's him, Kier Starmer or Rory Bremner on the radio.

... it is sometimes speculated that he might choose a different regnal name, on the suggestion that Charles is an unpropitious name for an English king. One had his head chopped off. The other had no legitimate children, resulting in the throne passing to the King of Scotland. And there was also "Bonnie Prince" Charles Edward Stuart who was a failure in his attempt to get the throne.
It was Elizabeth who was succeeded by a king of Scotland; James VI, who became James I. Charles II was succeeded by his brother James II.
But yes, the track record of Charles's is not terrific.

Weird factoid. Because the UK monarch is now the ruler of both England and Scotland, were there to be another King James, they wouldn't be James III, they would be James VIII, because they would have to take into account the James's in the Scottish line (James VII is who we know as James II)

It truly is the end of days.
Surely you can never be sure that it isn't Rory Bremner on the radio?

Crect. And Robert IV, David III, etc. It's a shame the monarchs have been trapped in an Edward/William/George cycle for so long. It'd be good to see some other names come in.
After the second Elizabethan monarchy, he might want to go for the second Arthurian one. And we can all laugh.
My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct
ETA 5/8/20: I've been advised that the result was correct, it was the initial interpretation that needed to be withdrawn
Meta? I'd say so!

It would be dreadful, because to do that we'd have postponed our overthrow of these stinkbags by a generation for every new fun name.
