Many say they want the booster to protect older relatives or because they expect to be away or busy when the rollout to younger people officially happens next year.
I hope they realise the booster doesn't mean they can't catch it & pass it on, and they should continue to do a LFT before visiting granny.

Got boosted yesterday and had my first ever adverse reaction last night. About midnight, got a pretty hefty fever, and had to get fully dressed (for warmth) to head downstairs and get some parrots. Also, headache and mild nausea as well. I'm hoping this means my defences are stronger rather than shitter.

Ah, that's not an adverse reaction. That's bird flu.

Same reaction as I had. Felt grotty for 24 hours after, then Ok. I hope you managed to find some painkillers, as sometimes the parrots eat em all

Well, well, all the queues out the doors, GPs not knowing what is going on. Well done Johnson, another sterling lesson in how to f.ck it up good and f.cking proper as per f.cking usual. Hold the front f.cking page.

Well, I was in and out (ooh err) in 25 minutes this morning, including the 15 minutes to make sure you aren't going to keel over in a heap. Askham Bar in York.

On the other hand, everyone I know who is trying to get booked is struggling and generally being referred to Wakefield, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Leeds. I wouldn't have minded a trip to Knaresborough, but obviously not everyone can do that from work and also would it be a good idea to get on public transport right now if you can avoid it?

The priority should be the 25% of over 50s who've not had a booster. That's where the reduction in hospitalisations and deaths can be won.

My concern is this group will be put off by the queues. Too hard, won't bother.

Giving 20 year olds boosters is Covid theatre, not real action.

Lol.

Why didn't they give the booster first is a thing.

Unclear how many people believe it and how many are trolling.

The argument is the first two doses didn't work well, but the third is better, so they should have reversed the order and done the best one first.

So big pharma deliberately did it wrong because profits.

FFS.

After my last driving lesson I knew how to drive. Why didn't I just take that one first?

I went for my booster appointment today which happened to be at small local church down a narrow side street. Turns out the system allowed 200 other people to book the exact same time slot. Cue utter chaos.

Got mine today.

When I booked the NHS site thought it was my first dose, but I turned up and explained I'd really had 2 Modernas in Portugal and as luck would have it that meant I was gonna get Pfizered anyway.

Bit of arm pain kicked in just now, about 12 hours after the jab, but weirdly for me I've been asleep since about 10pm anyway.
