Surely this is when he gets no confidenced? Unless parliament is stuffed with all-bark-no-bite wastemen.
It’s absolutely disgusting.
I expect a number of soft questions from Tory MPs, but are there no backbenchers who are allowed to ask about the matter at hand?
Are the Tory MPs who stand showing support for the PM? There aren’t many standing.

where once I used to scintillate
now I sin till ten past three
So the PM says there was a party, he just didn't realise...
*awaits the police investigation into all those Johnson has just thrown under the bus.*
Or are we going we going to see an amazing coincidence whereby all these people just happened to be in the same place at the same time and never saw the email invite?

My avatar was a scientific result that was later found to be 'mistaken' - I rarely claim to be 100% correct
ETA 5/8/20: I've been advised that the result was correct, it was the initial interpretation that needed to be withdrawn
Meta? I'd say so!

I think that's the point Chris Bryant made later on...
The worst of it is he’s already managed to completely destroy Allegra Stratton’s career, he’s tarnished the reputation of Lord Geidt, and now he’s making fools of every single MP who cheered him earlier, every single one who goes out on the radio and television to defend this shower of shenanigans.
Would it not be absolutely despicable if, in the search for a scapegoat, some junior member of staff ends up losing their job, but he kept his?

I've always wanted to live in a massively corrupt oligarchy.
I'm sure there are plenty of opportunities for extended field trips to such places. Unfortunately someone recently did a study of the white-bearded helmetcrest. That would have been so fitting. But maybe you could still get funding for a field-trip to study the Rusty-flanked crake or White-faced whitestart.

Ruth Davidson just stuck the boot in on BBC news.
Amazing that 100 or so people have had this email for 18 months and it's only just now being leaked.
The timings are working out quite well though - as it meant that the 'Christmas Party' could return a "I wasn't there, this was terrible, We shall investigate" response.
The 'Party on the Terrace' photo then led to a "no, no, this was just our way of working in a socially distanced manner" response
Then this. Busted
and the timing is great so that the outrage from each of the earlier incidents has allowed to subside, before coming back even stronger.
You know what would have been even better timing?
If the Met Police, who must have known what was going on, had actually done their jobs and arrested the lot of them last May.
I suspect that all those invited (and all those attending) actually work in #10 or one of the other buildings in Downing Street.
If I'm not mistaken, I think that many of them have adjoining internal doors, and so once you're in #12 or #11, you can get to #10 without ever seeing any plod.
Not that the babylon haven't been embarrassingly useless, just that I don't think they would necessarily have known what was going on beforehand

On its Ramsar assessment program.
DPRK have actually been quite cooperative on wetland conservation, including a nice joint agreement with t'other Korea and China to stop destroying the Yellow Sea.
I expect Venezuela would be more to my tastes though.
We have the right to a clean, healthy, sustainable environment.
They had a Conservative Party
While people were gasping their last
And now it’s all out in the open
They’ll say it was all in the past
Their press will pretend to be outraged
Then revert to one theme: refugees.
Can’t we just put the whole lot on trial
And sack their pet editors? Please?
Do we want a banana republic
Run by toffs and their press baron friends
With a nonsense electoral system
Which serves only one party’s ends?
Corruption and pitiless power -
Opposition in sad disarray.
Time Scotland and Wales left us to it:
It was never their choice anyway.
It first was a rumour dismissed as a lie, but then came the evidence none could deny:
a double page spread in the Sunday Express — the Russians are running the DHSS!

Starmer was brilliant today at PMQs, fwiw. And it was strange to be pulled from every opposition party leader calling for Johnson's resignation into Tory MP questions about washing machines.
