Here is a handy tool to find which tools backed Boris Johnson https://twitter.com/pippacrerar/status/ ... b1q8Z-oByA
Thanks. I'd strongly suspected that my arse-licking, no-independent-idea-in-what-passes-for-his-brain MP would have voted for Johnson, but I hadn't seen anything from him on the subject at all. This places him firmly on the pro-Johnson list so presumably they've seen something I haven't. Another reason, to add to the many I've already collected, to despise the tw.t.

Yes 8.9%

Some years ago a local newspaper near me had a poll on relaxing gun laws, which voted 96% in favour of relaxation. No one believes that this is representative of the views of British people, even in High Wycombe. Clearly it was mainly gun nuts who were bothered to vote.

So the results of self-selecting polls like this can be highly non-representative. Even if I want to believe the result.

I emailed mine; despite expressing strong reservations about partygate, he has asked constituents to respect the secret ballot process. The hints in the email were more pointed towards no confidence than the opposite, but given my email to him, that could well be just mollification.

I wrote to my Tory potted plant a week or so ago complaining about her supporting the criminal in No 10 and I got a stock letter back that was nothing to do with the original question, but according to that her inbox was overflowing with support for the great leader - and that was repeated the other day when she publicly supported him in the NC vote. What can you do? Yes it's Maggie Throup, a woman so insignificant even Maggie Throup doesn't know who she is*

She has supported everything him and this shower of a government have done and come election time she will get back in if she stands**.

* According to John Crace

**She did make such a balls up on question time when she was vaccines minister I hope some people remember it, but I doubt it.

I can guarantee my MP didn't vote for Johnson. He's Kier Starmer.

My MP voted in favour of Johnson. Nothing surprising at all, she’s gone on record saying that she owes her seat to Johnson so owes him loyalty.

And, well, yes she kind of owes her seat to Johnson in that she was parachuted in when the sitting MP was ejected from the Conservative Party for being a traditional Conservative, rather than a scheming opportunist. But this is a place that will elect a moose if it has a blue rosette on it so she’s been handed a job for life if she doesn’t piss off the local party. Her seat really isn’t threatened if Johnson goes.

Starmer wouldn't have had a vote, but he might have considered that the Conservatives having Johnson as leader would be very positive for Labour going into the next General Election.

It's one of the very few occasions when I'd have liked to have a Tory MP - so that I could email them asking for my views to be represented. As I'm in the 12th safest seat in the country (labour) there's basically nothing I can do to influence even in a tiny way any policy or opposition at all.

I've given up emailing mine. I have never had a reply and, based on general comments on our local FB page, I'm far from alone. At least the previous tw.t occasionally replied, even if it was with a fairly standard formulaic reply.

My MP is William Wragg who has confirmed several times that he put a letter in, so I’m fairly sure he will have voted against.

He’s always replied to me on various issues I’ve contacted him about.

Our constituency has had some changes in boundaries - when we first moved here it had quite a reasonable Conservative MP, but got replaced by a template Tory in 1987. Pleasingly, it was won by a good Labour MP in '92, but (as you say) there is a certain satisfaction in asking your MP to justify the crap actions their government is making.
By 2010, our boundaries had changed, and we had a different crap Conservative MP until we got a very good Labour MP elected in 2017 - fortunately he held on narrowly (<600 majority).

Depends on who would succeed Johnson, surely. Given the shower of lickspittles and non-entities that currently make up the cabinet I wouldn't be so sure.

England is a nasty little country with nasty voters.

Why does Johnson think it's a vote winner to help people on benefits buy a house?

Conservative voters hate people on benefits. They spend taxpayer money buying flat screen TVs every day.

Only hard working Brits deserve the right buy houses.

Because Tory thinking is:
- People who own houses are more likely to vote Tory.
