Just as a quick thought experiment I tried to consider what there motive was and what they hoped/expected to find by bugging Doreen Lawrence.

I couldn’t come up with anything even vaguely “good”. :|
This place is not a place of honor, no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here, nothing valued is here.
What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us.
This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

Since Mrs Lawrence is unlikely to do anything scandalous, id speculate its a favour to their mates in the police.

I'm struggling to think of any action by someone that could justify accessing medical records or bugging their cars by journalists. Even if they are an evil bastard, there are more ethical ways to take them down.

Especially surprising as the Mail was a key player in progressing the Stephen Lawrence case.

It’s almost as if they’re shamelessly self-serving, hypocritical c.nts.

According to the Graun, the alleged hacking of Doreen Laurence was before Dacre found out that Stephen's father was doing some decorating for him and realised they were actually human beings and not just blacks, and did his reverse ferret.

Blackmail*. "Hello there, we're going to run a story on you, would you like to comment? No? Oh, well, it could be quite embarrassing you know. Tell you what, give us a nice interview with some juicy quotes and we can spike the hatchet-job and run a story that's favourable to you instead. This time."

*Not saying DL is particularly blackmailable, just that this is gutter press SOP.

Faux News ran a piece playing an old answering machine message from Joe Biden to his son Hunter asking him to get help for his addiction, trying to imply that a father caring about his son was bad.

Guess where Faux News got the answering machine message - yup, the Daily Heil
