Anti-vaxx Andrew expelled

Post by FlammableFlower »

In this Andrew Bridgen, who's been kicked out of the Tory Party. Although there's a question as to whether he'll join the Reclaim Party...

So the Tories are still not as batshit as the Republicans. Admittedly a low bar, but at least they got over it in this case.

It's good that he's been expelled, but the several cases of Holocaust minimisation in the party recently revealed suggest it's not something they take sufficiently seriously.

The support he's getting on Twitter is quite eye-opening.

I'm no longer surprised at the number of batshit people that are on social media. I've generally stopped 386ing.

Bridgen threatened to sue Gove for libel, with a formal solicitor's letter, for saying he is anti-vaxx, among other claimed defamations. Gove didn't back down, and we haven't heard any more about it, so I'm not sure where that is going. But I remain confused why an MP who has stood up in parliament only last month to describe "the scale of harms that the experimental [mRNA] vaccines have caused and continue to cause", proudly putting his own speech and the government reply on his own website, thinks it is defamatory for someone to describe him as anti-vaxx.

I take great comfort from the fact that the trending on Twitter "Justice for Andrew Bridgen" is almost entirely people taking the piss out of him and calling for him to be brought to justice for spreading dangerous lies and disinformation.

Called it!

My powers of political prognostication are awesome. It wasn't because it was really obvious or anything like that.

Pretty sure they're more about the grift than the legal system.

(OT: I suspect this means that The Reclaim party will have an MP soon, given that they're the ones behind Bad Law Project.)
I'm pretty sure dyqik will be as smug as I am in a bit too:
