Re: General Election '24
Does the low turnout tell us that the unimpressive Labour national vote share was due to potential Labour voters staying home, thinking it was a foregone conclusion?

It probably tells you that people aren’t convinced that Keir is much different from a Tory.bob sterman wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 5:50 am Does the low turnout tell us that the unimpressive Labour national vote share was due to potential Labour voters staying home, thinking it was a foregone conclusion?

So, the seats of Truss, Johnson, May and Cameron were all lost.

I could walk from my house in the Black Country to the Scottish Borders without crossing a Tory constituency.
Re: General Election '24
Wow, Aylesbury has gone red. Non Tory for the first time in about 100 years, iirc. If gerrymandering us out is what tipped the balance, then I'm happy to have helped, even if I do still have a Tory MP. Hopefully he'll be marginally less useless than Rob Butler, I can but hope.
Re: General Election '24
Unfortunately the Tories took Torridge and Tavistock, or Land's End to Berwick, or maybe even John O'Groats would have be possible. As well as all four extreme points of mainland UK.headshot wrote: Fri Jul 05, 2024 5:54 am I could walk from my house in the Black Country to the Scottish Borders without crossing a Tory constituency.

If you ordered Matt Hancock from Wish
Though reports of 25% Lab were slightly over-egged
But Aylesbury is a little amusing. I'm crossing fingers for Wycombe, though there are reports that Baker might hold on by the skin of his teeth
