I’m looking to raise £1000 to cover the cost of purchasing a pair of PURDEY Sterling Silver Duelling Cufflinks from Harrods, These cufflinks cost £645 and then the additional funds will be used to get a professional engraving put onto each cufflinks.
No matter where you stand left-wing or right-wing , you can only agree that Boris has led the United Kingdom through COVID-19 with sheer determination and passion for his country and the people within. Boris has worked relentlessly and if we look at what our UK Prime Minister is paid compared to that of a professional footballer It is minuscule especially for doing the job that he does and having the burden of responsibility that he does.
Duelling cufflinks? Are they like duelling banjos? I don't see how that works.
Can we get them engraved: "Thank you for ignoring your doctor's advice and staying at work in order to appear tough, no matter how unproductive you became, until the point you realised you were really going to die and spent days in intensive care followed by a long convalescence while you were too weak to work. This gift from a grateful nation was inspired by some Daily Express reading cockend who thinks that's the most patriotic thing he's ever heard of".

Raising charity money for the NHS is a terrible mistake. Coming up with the "cost" of a person's visit to the NHS is a terrible terrible mistake.
The NHS must always be a service supplied by the nation through progressive taxation, it is not a charity. Costs are shared across society, they must never be allocated to an individual.

It has always struck me as obscene that the air ambulances and the RNLI seem to be funded entirely by charity. This is not how it should be.
A doctor friend of mine in the States estimated that when Mrs V had Legionnaires her stay in hospital, including the time in ICU, would have come to about $350k in all.

RNLI has always resisted the idea of government funding - poss 'cos that would mean gov wanting a say in how its run and it leaves the risk of cuts as we've seen in public services under tory govs.

A speaker we (Pedmore Men's Club) had from air ambulance said they prefered not to have Government Funding.

Our air ambulance is appealing for donations of PPE. Because they're not part of the NHS they're not on the distribution pathway.
