Tweeting was where he got direct validation from his adoring fans (apart from rallies of course). I don’t imagine he read many of the comments but he will have looked at how many likes he was getting. That’s going to be some rough come down he has from that. I don’t think he’s going to be able to recover from the blow to his pride. I certainly hope he won’t. Will he carry on holding rallies? Will venues agree to host him with the threat of violence that accompanies him? He’s not getting back on telly any time soon, unless you count OANN or whatever. He still has plenty of supporters but a lot less than three days ago. He will fade into obscurity and he’ll hate it and kick and scream at the walls.

Google suspends 'free speech' app Parler

Google has suspended "free speech" social network Parler from its Play Store over its failure to remove "egregious content".

Parler styles itself as "unbiased" social media and has proved popular with people banned from Twitter.

But Google said the app had failed to remove posts inciting violence.

Apple has also warned Parler it will remove the app from its App Store if it does not comply with its content-moderation requirements.

On Parler, the app's chief executive John Matze said: "We won't cave to politically motivated companies and those authoritarians who hate free speech!"

Potentially a bigger deal than the apps being dropped. Much of the web runs of AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform. If the other two follow suit then Parler will find it very difficult. It’ll probably have to set up it’s own servers quickly (before the users disappear). That won’t just involve buying hardware, I expect they’ll also have to rewrite the software.

As per the above link, Parler is shut down while they rebuild a version that doesn’t run on AWS (and presumably any of the other cloud services.
