Probably more gullible than low intelligence. They believed that they were doing what Trump wanted and so he'd protect them. They didn't need to worry about taking selfies or deleting the evidence because he'd make sure that patriots were not thrown into jail, or at least got a pardon later.

It's amazing reading. On page 12 there's a quote from some moron saying they're all performing a citizen's arrest on the whole congress as they have probable cause of treason in the form of election fraud. It's as if he thinks "probable cause" is a magic spell that lets you do anything. I'm picturing a bunch of Harry Potter cosplayers pointing their wands and chanting "probable cause" and actually expecting doors to fly open.
