Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D), the state’s chief elections officer, advised Maricopa County Thursday that it should replace all voting machines that were turned over to a private contractor for an audit of the 2020 presidential election, citing “grave concerns regarding the security and integrity” of the machines that make them unusable for future elections.
Hobbs’ guidance, outlined in a letter to county officials, is the latest fallout from a review of the election ordered by Republicans in the Arizona state Senate, who used a subpoena to order the county to turn over voting machines and nearly 2.1 million ballots to reexamine last fall’s vote.
The chief executive of the private company hired to conduct the audit has echoed false allegations that the election was stolen, and the process has been widely criticized by election experts as insecure and unprofessional.

Venezuela used to have a uniform complete set for the whole country of one of the most hard-to-falsify voting machines available. I say used to, because they were recently transferred to a central warehouse for safekeeping, which unfortunately burnt down shortly afterwards.
This is why the Chavistas used to work so hard bussing voters around to get them there to vote in person, and made various benefits and all public jobs conditional upon being a registered governmen supporter. And actually lost the last election to the legislature before the voting machines were burnt.
The thing is, absolutely everybody knows that there was no fraud, ninja machines, or funny business with the 2020 election. The ones who are still making a big deal of it also know this, but are really really butt-hurt over the results. Their intention is undoubtedly to further the divide in society and polarize the electorate even more.

Or use it as an excuse to bring in more voter suppression measures. PM Minitrump is proposing voters here have photo ID in order to be allowed to vote. ID such as driving licence or passport. Poorer Labour voters are less likely to have these than are richer Tory voters. I'm sure the GOP has similar bright ideas.
And remember that if you botch the exit, the carnival of reaction may be coming to a town near you.

The GOP have been trying for longer, I think. They're also more advanced/creative than that - what you do is require that you have some ID to vote, then also close the places where you can go get the ID. It's important to make sure people can't get ID as well as needing it.

Well voter suppression and gerrymandering are always in full swing here in texas. After all, we Don't want no god damn minorities voting. Hell Vern, they're already trying to take our guns away!
