Does anyone use the word 'orgy' anymore? That's so 1970s tabloid.

Likewise. 'three-in-a-bed romp'. Does anybody ever use such phrases irl?
Time for a big fat one.

If any of the MSM also go to swingers parties and kink clubs it will soon be in the hetero population.

There's the whole bit in Pratchett's The Truth about newspaper words: fracas, rumpus, etc. The scandal sheets have their own selection of words, of course.

Top of The Guardian right now is "soaring costs".

I used to have a very old fashioned boss who used 'eye-watering' at every opportunity. Also 'jaw-dropping'.

I often wonder whether anyone says 'pooch' or 'moggy' other than journalists told not to use 'dog' or 'cat' in two consecutive sentences

Topic split from monkey pox.

I think only tabloid writers use orgy and then only as a second mention for three-in-a-bed romp, or possibly vice versa.

Regrettably* the opportunity never seems to arise.
